Meet Chris Cole

Christian Cole has been around the game of basketball since he was four years old.  While attending different training camps, he has learned from some of the greatest basketball minds including Rick Pitino, Hubie Brown, Bobby Knight, and Mike Krzyzewski. Chris’s mental approach to the game stretches well beyond his years, but pales in comparison to his perseverance and personal qualities off the court.

In High School Chris played AAU basketball for DC Assault, and Varsity basketball for National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Maryland. Chris attributes both programs for his development as a person and a player.

Chris earned a basketball scholarship to Hartford University where he played in 28 games as a freshman. In that year, he led the team with 78 assists despite battling a broken foot. Shortly after, Chris decided to transfer to New Mexico State University. After sitting out the year due to NCAA transfer regulations, Chris made 25 appearances and was second in assists, with 72, despite missing 13 games due to illness. During the next two years Chris battled cancerous polyps in his colon, which ultimately led him to transfer his dream from playing to training and coaching.

Chris now spends his time training players of all ages and skill levels and as just become the Head Trainer for DC Assault.  He has trained players from various Division I universities as well as several professional athletes. This past summer, he trained two of DC Assault’s alumns as they prepared for the 2011 NBA Draft, Nolan Smith and Austin Freeman. Nolan Smith was selected as the 21st pick overall to the Portland Trailblazers and Austin is currently playing overseas for Fulgor Libertas Forli.

Chris is dedicated to inspiring kids to be their best, on and off the court, and also spends time as an advocate for cancer awareness.

Chris Cole holds daily training sessions as well as weekend workouts. Please call 202-650-9934 for more information or email him at ccole@dcainc.org. His training schedule can also be seen to left, under training schedule.
